Join us at Picknick de Luxe for the first edition of our summer ceramics events in the garden! With handpicked wines and appetisers from the bar, we relax in the beautiful surroundings at Ekobacken and get creative with clay. The event is guided by Leah Ireland, the designer behind FLOW studios in the heart of Växjö.
From jewellery to mugs or vases, there will be possibilities for both beginners and those with more experience. Guidance will be provided where needed, with lots of space for free-flow exploration of the material. Each participant receives up to 2kg of stoneware clay, with firing and glazing included.
Wine and snacks will be served during the workshop in the picturesque setting of Picknick de Luxe and the gardens. Dinner can be ordered on-site if desired to finish off the evening.
~ About Leah and FLOW studios:
Leah is a Canadian/Swiss designer based in Småland with a focus on slow food culture, aesthetics, ecology and exploring creative ways of living and caring for the planet. Her practice is profoundly influenced by nature and the seasons, with water and the ocean as a recurrent theme in her artistic work. Leah’s approach to teaching is playful and hands-on, informed by 7 years of experience as a workshop facilitator, teacher and mentor.
FLOW studios is located across from Domkyrkan in MONO skivbutik. Your pieces will be brought here to glaze, fire and pick up when they're ready. Good to know:
_Comfortable clothes that can get a bit of clay on them are recommended.
_Paid parking is available on Risingevägen (bike parking abounds).
_Language: the workshop will be in english (men svenska går bra med Leah om det är bekvämare för dig).
_Extra clay or glaze options can be arranged on-site..
_Each piece will be fired and ready for pick up at FLOW studios by July 20th.
